FTTX
FTTX (Fiber to the X) access solutions are essential for modern fixed networks: by bringing fiber optics closer to the end user, they are able to ensure high connection speeds and minimal latency.
Thanks to its scalability and reliability, FTTX access is the key to meeting the growing demand for broadband in urban areas and provides a strong foundation for delivering advanced services such as the Internet of Things (IoT), smart homes, and high-definition streaming.
MAN
MAN networks (Metropolitan Area Networks) are a strategic infrastructure for high-capacity, low-latency communication in metropolitan areas. Designed to connect businesses, public institutions, and private users, these networks ensure reliable and high-performance connectivity in densely populated urban environments.
MAN networks play a key role in the digital transformation of cities, fostering technological innovation and improving the quality of life for citizens. Thanks to their ability to integrate advanced solutions and their resilience-oriented design, they represent a crucial element for sustainable and interconnected urban development.
With their efficiency and scalability, MAN networks enable the development of smart cities, supporting applications such as intelligent traffic management, public safety, and IoT device connectivity. These infrastructures are also essential for supporting the growth of digital services, such as cloud computing, teleworking, and high-definition streaming, addressing the growing demand for broadband.
Optical Backbone
Based on high-capacity links and redundant architectures that ensure service continuity even in case of failures or interruptions, optical backbones are an essential component of fixed telecommunications networks, guaranteeing connectivity and supporting large-scale technological innovation.
Thanks to their ability to handle throughput in the terabit-per-second range, optical backbones are crucial elements for supporting the exponential growth of data traffic.
We assist in defining business plans to enhance optical backbone networks, identifying use cases that highlight their potential in enabling high-capacity services such as video streaming, cloud computing, and IoT applications, supporting the sustainable growth of infrastructures.
We conduct in-depth assessments of the capabilities of optical backbones to ensure they can handle large volumes of traffic, with particular attention to high-demand scenarios like streaming, virtualization, and managing large data flows.
We support the design and optimization of optical backbones to ensure resilient connectivity, with redundant architectures that guarantee service continuity even in the event of failures or interruptions, vital for business continuity.
Submarine Cables
Submarine cables are the backbone of global connectivity, carrying over 95% of international data traffic. These strategic infrastructures, lying on the ocean floor, ensure reliable, low-latency communication between continents, enabling the interconnection of data centers, cloud services, and critical applications.
In addition to promoting economic development and digital transformation on a global scale, submarine cables are essential for ensuring redundancy and resilience in international networks. Collaborations between operators and global consortia are also driving the diversification of routes and the expansion of submarine networks, ensuring continuity and security even in the event of failures or disruptions.
In an increasingly connected era, submarine cables represent not only a critical infrastructure component but also a key element for technological innovation and global competitiveness.
IP/MPLS Networks
IP/MPLS networks have long been the core of modern digital infrastructure, managing data transport with flexibility and efficiency.
Today, the evolution of IP/MPLS networks continues towards greater simplification, both in operational aspects (e.g., through Segment Routing) and in the configuration of end-to-end services, by defining overlay network layers (such as SD-WAN solutions). This enables greater efficiency in managing these infrastructures and improved performance in terms of re-routing and service reliability.
In particular, the adoption of the Software-Defined Networking (SDN) paradigm within IP/MPLS networks helps make these infrastructures highly programmable, flexible to the changing needs of the market, and easily integrable with automation tools. This allows for dynamic traffic management based on the network’s status, enabling the ability to ensure specific service levels for individual applications (Application-Aware Routing).
Wholesale access and transport commercial services
Wholesale access and transport services on fixed networks allow operators to offer connectivity to third parties, facilitating widespread broadband distribution and promoting a competitive telecommunications ecosystem. Examples of these services include leased line leasing, backhaul for mobile operators, and broadband access for Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Through infrastructure sharing, these services reduce operational costs and foster innovation, while ensuring reliable and high-performance connectivity. Wholesale solutions are essential for supporting the growing demand for digital services, driving the expansion of local and global markets.
