Maurizio Dècina

Electronic Engineer and Emeritus Professor at the Politecnico di Milano, Maurizio Dècina has evenly divided the 50 years of his career between academia and industry.
He has served as a scientific consultant for the Bell Labs in Chicago, Director of Research and Development at Italtel in Milan, as well as Scientific Director and founder of the CEFRIEL consortium in Milan. Professor Dècina has also been a Commissioner at the Italian Communications Regulatory Authority (AGCOM), President of the Ugo Bordoni Foundation in Rome, and President of Infratel Italia, as well as a board member of Telecom Italia, Italtel, and other ICT sector companies.
Professor Dècina was President of the IEEE Communications Society, the international association of telecommunications engineers. He was named an IEEE Life Fellow for his technical and scientific contributions to the development of telecommunications and has received three IEEE awards: the International Communications Award, the Third Millennium Medal, and the ComSoc/KICS Global Service Award.
